Anything that allows you to change the color is paid software. Here's MightyMouse. Unfortunately, it looks like MightyMouse has been discontinued:(I would recommend this free software that displays a circle around your cursor. When you haven't moved your mouse for awhile and you move it, it'll display a circle around the pointer. I use the Mac Client to RDP to access work machine and have noticed an issue with mouse pointers. When using VS2013 in Dark Theme and move the cursor over an open docuemnt the caret remains black, and can't be distinguished from the background. When using the computer directly the caret changes to white.

The point where text is inserted in a Terminal window is indicated by a cursor. You can customize the color and style of the cursor.
In the Terminal app on your Mac, choose Terminal > Preferences, then click Profiles.
In the Profiles list, select a profile.
Click Text.
Under Cursor, select a cursor style.
If you want the cursor to flash, select “Blink cursor.”
To change the color of the cursor, click the cursor color well, then select a color.
